Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek, also known as the ABC Trek, is a classic trek in Nepal that takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush green forests to barren high-altitude deserts, and offers stunning views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). The trek starts from the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara and follows the Modi Khola river valley through charming Gurung villages, terraced farmlands, and rhododendron forests to reach the base camp of Annapurna, situated at an altitude of 4,130 meters. The trek is popular among trekkers of all levels of fitness and experience and is considered one of the most beautiful treks in the world.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek that can be completed in around 7-12 days, depending on your itinerary and pace. The trek offers a diverse range of landscapes, from lush green forests and cascading waterfalls to rocky terrains and snow-capped peaks. Along the way, you will encounter charming Gurung and Magar villages, where you can experience their unique culture and hospitality. The highlight of the trek is, of course, the majestic Annapurna massif, which dominates the skyline throughout the trek. The trek also offers panoramic views of other high peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. The trek is suitable for trekkers of all ages, but a good level of physical fitness is required as you will be walking for several hours each day at high altitude. Overall, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an unforgettable experience that combines breathtaking scenery, cultural immersion, and physical challenge.
