MT YALA PEAK CLIMBING

Mt Yala Peak is a popular trekking peak located in the Langtang region of Nepal. At an elevation of 5,520 meters, it offers a challenging yet rewarding climbing experience, along with stunning views of the Himalayas. The climb starts with a trek through dense forests, small villages, and beautiful valleys until reaching the Kyanjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery and village. Here, climbers can rest and acclimatize to the altitude while exploring the surrounding areas, including the Langtang Glacier and viewpoint for stunning views of the mountains. From Kyanjin Gompa, the trail leads to the base camp of Yala Peak, where climbers prepare for the summit day.

The climb to the summit takes around six to eight hours and requires technical skills such as the use of crampons, ice axes, and ropes. From the summit, climbers can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. The descent back to Kyanjin Gompa and further to Syabrubesi is via the same route, giving climbers the opportunity to enjoy the scenery and culture of the Langtang region.

    Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
    Arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where you’ll be greeted by a representative from the trekking company and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing to the time zone.

    Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Preparation
    Take a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, including visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, meet with your trekking guide and fellow climbers to discuss the trekking plan and preparation for the trip.

    Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m)
    After breakfast, drive to Syabrubesi, a small town in the Langtang region, located about 7-8 hours drive from Kathmandu. Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful countryside, small villages, and scenic landscapes.

    Day 4: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m)
    Begin the trekking portion of the trip with a hike from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. The trail leads through dense forests, small villages, and beautiful valleys, and takes around 5-6 hours to complete.

    Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m)
    Continue the trek to Langtang Village, a beautiful village located in the heart of the Langtang Valley. The trail takes around 6-7 hours to complete and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

    Day 6: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)
    Today’s trek takes you to Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful Buddhist monastery and village located at the foot of the Langtang Glacier. The trail takes around 3-4 hours to complete and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

    Day 7: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa
    Take a day off to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. You can explore the surrounding areas, including the Langtang Glacier and viewpoint for stunning views of the mountains.

    Day 8: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp (4,800m)
    Start the ascent towards Yala Peak by trekking to the Base Camp, located at an elevation of 4,800 meters. The trail is challenging and takes around 5-6 hours to complete.

    Day 9: Summit Day – Climb to the summit of Yala Peak (5,520m) and back to Base Camp
    Today is the summit day, where you’ll climb to the peak of Yala at an elevation of 5,520 meters. The climb takes around 6-8 hours and requires technical skills such as the use of crampons, ice axes, and ropes. From the summit, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas before descending back to Base Camp.

    Day 10-11: Contingency Days
    These are contingency days in case of bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances that may delay the climb.

    Day 12: Trek from Yala Base Camp to Kyanjin Gompa
    Descend back to Kyanjin Gompa from the Base Camp, which takes around 5-6 hours.

    Day 13: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
    Retrace your steps back to Lama Hotel, which takes around 6-7 hours

    Day 14: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi
    After breakfast, trek back to Syabrubesi, the endpoint of the trek. The trek takes around 5-6 hours to complete.

    Day 15: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
    Take a scenic drive from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu, which takes around 7-8 hours. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can rest and explore the city on your own.

    Day 16: Departure
    The trip comes to an end as you transfer to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for your departure flight.
