Island Peak Climbing

Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, is a popular climbing peak located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Standing at an elevation of 6,189 meters, Island Peak is one of the most climbed peaks in the Himalayas and is a popular choice for those who are seeking a challenging climb with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

The Island Peak climbing itinerary usually takes around 18 to 20 days and starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From there, the trek passes through several picturesque Sherpa villages, including Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche, before reaching Island Peak Base Camp.

The climb to the summit of Island Peak involves a steep ascent over snow and ice, and requires basic mountaineering skills like using crampons and ice axe. The climb is not technically difficult, but it is physically demanding, and climbers need to be in good physical condition.

Reaching the summit of Island Peak offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The descent back to Island Peak Base Camp is followed by the trek back to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu.
